More Painter fun

Well, I didn't think I'd sit down for the entirety of this painting and finish it, but I did(3hrs).
Guess I was that bored or determined to finish it. Either way, I'm happy with the results for now.

As for the image, it's actually a paintover of a friends drawing that he did a few years back. I got an email today about another friend of mine who inked this yesterday I think, and wrote to us about how our mutal buddy Ken hasn't done any art in forever. So in hopes of getting him back to art, he inked it. Seeing it inked got me stoked to try out Painter some more.
I had alot of fun doing this--trial and error of course, but I think I'm heading in the right direction.

Playing with Pastels...

...in Painter.
So far I'm really enjoying the program. I'd like to possibly do a full portrait with this medium and program, but that depends on if I stay interested long enough to finish one. heh.

Josey Wales

Watched the Outlaw of Josey Wales on the History Channel and what a great movie it is. Just like the old days of VHS with my dad.
I took a caricature class a few years back at school, and it was one of the best classes that I took. I learned a lot from Morpheus, and I tried to implement that into this sketch. I'm not sure if it really looks like him, but I'd like to keep working on some more in the future to get the hang of it again.

Done in Painter again, btw.

Foolin' around with Painter

What a pretty cool program. I just wish I knew how to use it properly, cause it has so much potential.
Regardless, here's a sketch I did in it using the pastel brush, or whatever it's called. It felt pretty natural--kinda like the ol' college drawing days of using it on a "biggie" pad.

I think I'll work on a few more this weekend, and maybe be brave enough to experiment with the other mediums.

Goodbye.

Today my grandfather passed away, and I just wanted to go home and be left alone. On the way though, I looked up and saw this in the sky. In your lifetime, you can probably count on your hand how many times you've seen one. What are the odds of me seeing this the day I hear news about my grandfather?

Maybe he was trying to say goodbye to me.

I love you too Grandpa.

Face Sketch

I've been so busy with work, and other side projects, it's hard to devote time to personal art. I try to make some time before I leave from work for some personal sketching or whatnot. Took about 35 mins. to be content with this.

It's the start of a new year, so I need to get back on track :)
